If they are add banners, put one on the footer on forum home, and small image ones wherever you want.

In the forum display feel free to put it anywhere, and again I would suggest the footer

In the showthread, I would suggest having a number of banners, not big huge ones, standard button size, as this is what most members will look at. Not your forum home, not the forumdisplay (not as much as the showthread).

This is only, if you absolutly must, oe else I would stay away from click-ads as there is no money in it, and they can be very annoying to members.
