Vb3's release is so close, but is it close to replace our 2.2.x boards in our servers?
Many experienced users are not considering upgrading to 3.x for a long time since it would be very likely to be buggy in its first few months. V2.x.x is around for years but there still security patches, bug fixes nearly everymonth, do you think vb3 with radical algorithm and structure changes will be rock stable when it's released? I doubt it.
Besides there may be other users whose (owner) licences expired and would not considering a repayment to renew it so will stick to 2.2.x from now on.
I dont agree vb2.x.x hacks should halt, but it's true that it's very awkward time for hackers to decide to code a hack (especially major ones) as they dont know whether vb3 would include the feature or not. It's also true that they are reluctant as they need to revise tthe code after vb3 release. But let's not discourage them more anyway. :glasses:
