Did the install file run correctly? I'm assuming it did since it created the templates and such... The only other thing it could be is you didn't make the right changes to newthread.php and newreply.php. Double check that you made the 2 changes in each of those files, upload them again, and make another news post. There's no reason that shouldn't work, but if it doens't let me know and we'll get the problem solved.
