Hi,

I've been trying to setup a site, but I'm very new to php. I am making endless mistakes and constantly annoying my users by crashing the SQL (server usage of 16.00 82.00 79.00 being the 'best' numbers I've seen after the SQL was restarted - I'm quite good at crashing the server...)

I've taken a look at php nuke, but it didn't seem like there's many sources out there where I can find help with getting it to work properly and to edit it to work in a few ways with vbulletin.

vb portal looked fantastic, and although I got it working (except the mainpage actually.. never got that working), it just looked too damn complicated.

Are there any other scripts out there which have good support and a good community?

My current site setup:

Pages all HTML with SSI inserts from CGI scripts and text files produced by them.

Forums all vbulletin (hacked) with a lot of small personal changes plus a LOT of hacks from here.

The site is about motor sport simulations and something I do is host forums within my forums for other sites. We even host some official developers and private beta test forums. Infact right now I'd go as far as to say that 99.9% of the users don't bother looking at the site itself, because the forums are so vibrant.

We include reviews, scene news and articles.

Anyone think of any scripts I can download/buy which can help me?
