Since I just purchased VB about 2 days ago I thought I might be able to offer some insite into setting up and customizing VB.

First of all, installing VB is very easy. It took me longer to read the install directions than it did to install. Five minutes tops, 10 if you have a slow FTP connection.

As far as changing the look of VB, it is a little harder getting started than some other forums, but the forums here and at vbulletin.com have a lot of advice.

Most of the free styles I have seen around are either out of date, or don't work well with the webdesign you already have. Don't worry about that. It doesn't take that long to learn and customize it the way you want. Take a look here to see what I have done with mine in less than two days. There is still a lot more that I would like to do, but right now I'm working on getting several more scripts up and running to finish my site.
