hacks are basically code modifications that people have made to the files and oftern templates also to add extra features to the forum software.

You will find many of these in the hack datatase (click hacks at the top)

Most have full instructions on how to do it and most don't require any php knowledge (some require sql query knowledge).

Back up any files you intend to change in case things go wrong
