I personally think this would be a great addition to the User CP. You would give users the ability to customize their View New Posts page based on forums and possibly other things. For example, if I only visit X and Y forums on a site, I could set it to only report new posts in those forums.

Right now, all this feature does is report back new posts in ALL forums since your last visit. This hack would let you weed out unwanted results and provide hightened efficiency. This would be totally customizable through your User CP. Useful feature?
