Yeahi know what you're saying. I thought through this hack before I even owned a copy of VBulletin and saw what it could do. Seeing now that it allows admins to create custom profile fields does create complication for a hack like this.

Basically I think what would need to be done to make it work would be to have the hack install a number of choices in users profiles. A specific field that would list options that were previously choosen from a listbox (see image below) in the user cp. These would be necessary. The listbox would appear in the profile section when a member registers and it would require a member to check off at least oneor multiple options. The admin would add the choices that are selectable in the listbox via the adminCP.

From there the choices that were in the list box would appear in the four drop down meus when searching.

So in other words you aren't searching the whole profile just certian fields that the hack installs that feature limited options.
