...? Weren't you working on this project anyway? I recalled Afterlab over at FFRepublic was also, but all his battle hack consists of is an icon showing two swords clashing together.
When I was taking AP Comp Science this year in my highschool class, I made this Final Fantasy program that ran pretty well. At first I started big and had a materia system and what not in the program, but then I figured it was getting to complicated and I couldn't figure out how to make it all come together anyway, so I reduced the battlesystem. I made a very simple but cool system.
Even the most simplest battle hack would be cool to have, that would simply contain these important variables:
1. Enter battle by clicking on icon or text in a members postbit.
2. The damage you inflict will depend on your level.
3. When you attack, another persons HP will lower (duh).
4. Some form of battle cap, not allowing a level 20 person to fight a level 3 person (this would probably be most hardest to code...but then again, not really)
5. When a user runs/escapes/is defeated from battle any other way (ie. closes their browser window) they get gold deducted and the winner recieves gold and exp.
6. Both members have to be online, ofcourse, and have to be free.
That seems about it, and the hacks this already consists of are:
Yet another stats level hack by knoman, although only using HP for battle. The Level, which determines the amount of damage a user inflicts.
shinra online point system, this is needed for the points/gold/gp or whatever you want to call it recieved from battle.
These components can really be used to make the most simplest battle hack, but working. And after you create this and get used to it you can always add others. I laugh though to see in post #1 that he has like 20 fields (actually to quote him, he said 100 fields). Talk about starting big, but to implement all those in a hack never been done before is gonna be no easy task.
