Each one has its advantages, I can not tell all details which one is better but I will you a real example on 2 my forums that using vBulletin (vB4) and Xenforo (XF2)

For me, I can make any forum platform better than others but it needs to have enough my conditions such as functions/features that I wanted though it is vbulletin, xenforo or ips.
