Yes, that's exactly what I'd like to happen. When they subscribe, it should also add them to my MailChimp list, presumably via their API.

There is already a mod, but it was for VB4 - (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=287495)
perhaps it would only require some editing, but a brand new mod would be awesome.

What would your ETA be on this mod? I have a feeling we could get a lot of people interested in it.
