Your issue is caused by your having modified core files against the advice of vBulletin support staff. You need to revert those files to their defaults. This error does not occur on a default installation with the required DB / PHP / SQL with unmodified files.

Revert your .htaccess file to the default.

Do not take bad advice about redirecting links from customers.
