Can someone tell me what needs to be done to implement home screen icons for the mobile theme of my forum?

What size do the icons need to be? And how/where/what code needs to be placed in my files?

I'm new to all this obile stuff, so I really have no clue. Right now, when I click the 3 vertical dots at the top-right of my phone, and choose "Add to homescreen", it creates a square icon with the first letter (c) from my domain name. I would like to make a custon one for this.
