Thanks, unfortunately (AFAIK) no root access, just cPanel.

I'm getting the impression that this is more of an annoyance than an escalating problem. If so I can continue forwarding the error messages and hope they figure it out. Site was slow on the weekend, they scheduled a MySQL restart, and at least the speed returned. Fewer errors this morning.

It's an annoyance but when your server is running at peak some people will get that error rather than reaching the site..

I think your probably need to go up another package if they have anything higher than platinum. Maybe see if they have a plutonium package.

I highly doubt they will increase your max connections because you are using more then your current hosting package allows.
