What specific version of vBulletin are you running? I ask this because some of the recent security patches were simple file uploads with only one or two instances requiring the actual upgrade script being run (i.e. just drop the patch files into place and you were done = easy). So if you're running a version where it's a simple matter of only uploading the patch files to ensure forumrunner is up-to-date then that is what you need to do and should be fairly straight forward and easy.

- Login to https://members.vbulleitn.com
- Look on the left column for "patches" or similar, find the correct patch for your version.
- Now "patch" your site .

If by some odd chance you're not using forumrunner at all but thought it needed to be updated, then sure you can update it for security reasons HOWEVER if you're not using it at all simply uninstall the modification and remove the associated folder and files from your server to ensure it can't be compromised in the future if another exploit is found within etc.
