I noticed when visiting the site, the forum is just that i.e. on the top level url and not in a folder such as /forums/ however your CMS is in a sub-folder? Example: www.example.com/cms/

What I think you did was try to install the CMS in the root and meant to have the forums in a folder perhaps? Not entirely sure but glad to hear it's fixed for now, don't go pulling any hairs out or completely re-installing until there simply is no fix at all, never a need to redo work when sorting one little error might sort it all
