On your CMS home page is there a drop-down box to create an article?



If not then you need to adjust your administrator permissions:
> AdminCP > Usergroups > Administrator Permissions > *Click to Edit Permissions of admin in questions > *Now select Yes for options related to CMS.

Edit: If you installed the default data, simply edit an article for now to get used to the system which makes life easier on understanding how it works. If you did not install default data it actually requires a little more setup to ensure everything works right errrr well actually let me re-phrase to ensure you know how everything works, and it works right there we go that sounds better.
