I did not upgrade to this version yet, but I upgraded to the version 5.2 (not Patch Level 2).
I didn't have any problems with this part, though.

Questions: did you run the upgrade in the live forum or in a local test machine? Do you have multiple servers receiving the request or a single server?

When I upgraded my forum from 4.2 to 5.2, sometimes the process stopped, then I had to open a new tab and use again the link to upgrade. The process, which was stopped in the first tab, would continue from the point it stopped. It worked for me, and that could be a solution.
I also had the problem that I had 2 servers on live. Those servers would, at some point, mess the requests. So I had to create a subdomain which I would use to access only one of the servers, but that did not happen in this point of the upgrade.

Other thing that would help us to help you is if you press the button "Show Details" and paste the output lines in your post, so we can have a better idea of what is going on. Another thing: the process of a simple upgrade is supported by the dev team, so you can post your question in the Install and Upgrade forum and get help from them.
