Unless I just installed it incorrectly. Which is entirely possible since I've not installed a theme before this one. I used the instructions in main post.

Works perfect with 4.2.3 and PHP 5.4/5.5

Do you use SSL? Had a similar issue when used a self-signed certificate...parts of the content won't load correct. Using official CA signed SSL Certificate fixed it.
