Umm, no. Most all previous fan-produced ST which SeeBS had no problem with used actors, sets, ships and props as well from the various series and movies. Actors including George Takei (Sulu), Nichelle Nichols (Uhura), Tim Russ (Tuvok), Walter Koenig (Chekov), and so on.

I bet Gene is spinning in his grave.

He has been ever since JJ Abrams got his mitts on the franchise. He's not spinning over Axanar, in fact David Gerrold (ST writer of the tribbles episode and consultant on the 'Enterprise' series) said of Axanar, "THIS is Star Trek" and signed on as creative consultant on Axanar later as well.

SeeBS's problem with this is that it is better than the current crap they are producing.
