Anyway! My first suggestion!
Exist a couple mod`s, within ajax-based pagination:

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=287101
In "LITE" versions both of this mod`s, we have ajax-based pagination only for showthread, but not for forumdisplay, pm and blogs.
And as I know, in both of them navigation have not change url after navigate to next/previous page. I`m think its not good for indexing of forum.

So.. I think its will be very cool have this functionality!
