Add-ons are hard to create and/or update for vB5 considering the current state of the plugin/hook system for vB5. I'm not fully up to par regarding mailchimp, I know of it and love it great for sending out mail, love how you can customize your letter appearance as well! Long story short it would be best to inquire on the mailchimp site directly or with their customer support as they may have been asked this already (since vB5 has been out for a while now) and have a definitive answer for you

If you do not find a mod/plugin then its due to my original statement - vote to improve that here: http://tracker.vbulletin.com/browse/VBV-10333 and if enough votes accumulate it will return and so will tons of then easier to make and support plugins.
