Yeah, unfortunately I think it's kind of a "critical mass" type of thing. In the past (before my time, really) there were lots of people modding their own sites and sharing, and people developing on request because they enjoyed the satisfaction of seeing lots of people benefit from it. Now (as someone who's more on the coding side), if you decide to develop a mod on request, a lot of times it just feels like you're doing custom programming for free.
Anyway, not sure why you posted that in this thread (does it relate to this mod somehow), but it's kind of off topic.
