I'm betting you're dead on. I did a bunch of work to this skin a couple years ago, and never ended up upgrading to vb4... And then subsequently forgot pretty much everything I learned about editing this stuff, heh.
It's on my test forum, which is .htaccess protected so that I don't run into license issues unfortunately. I can PM you a login if you'd care to take a look, but it's no biggie - I'll be mashing my face against it over the weekend and will post up if I figure it out. I recall being a little grumpy about all of the shared definitions before, so I can go on a revert rampage until I find it.

Turns out it's Global > Font. Unfortunately as you said, it's a shared stylevar that's... Well, everywhere, ouch.

For anyone searching, here's my "fix". There may be a more elegant way to do it but this is what I came up with.
In postbit_legacy, look for:
Code:
{vb:raw post.message}
Wrap it with a new div. I called mine "mgpostcontent".
Code:
<div class="mgpostcontent">
{vb:raw post.message}
</div>
Then in style manager -> edit templates -> CSS -> additional.css. Create a new definition at the end:
Code:
/* MG Post Content */
.mgpostcontent {
font: 14px verdana;
}
Again this is probably not the cleanest way to do it, but it works in FF, Safari and Chrome for me and allows me to move on to the next item on my to-do list so that I can finish my theme.
