Hello All,

I have a very specific need.

I am looking for forum software ( doesn't need to be the latest/greatest ) that is both stable and secure from hackers and contains the following functionality :

1) Event Calendar with Email Reminders


I have looked at many of the free options for forums as well as the paid options like vBulletin.

The best I have been able to come up with so far in my internet search is to use an older version of vBulletin ( 3.6.2 ) and this modification : Automatic Calendar Reminders Hack for VB 3.6.2

I am posting here to elicit some help or suggestions for going about doing this the best way possible.

Questions :
A) Is it possible to install this older version of VB in order to gain the functionality of this mod?
B) Is this a safe, stable release of the VB software - or are there exploits which are well known?
C) Is there a more up-to-date version of this modification/hack that someone knows about that provides the core functionality ( Event Calendar with Email Reminders ) that runs on VB 4.2.2 or the like?
D) Any other thoughts, input or suggestions anyone might have to help me on my quest?
