You can sort them into columns. Hit the windows key again and it goes away. You gave it an entire day before you switched? But they've fixed that in 8.1, as well as a host of other issues, like coming directly to the desktop instead of the start screen.

What did you try to do? Unless you hit the start menu, or try to launch a metro app, you'll never see the interface.

If my mother and father (60 and 70 respectively) who can barely use computers, can manage, I'm very positive anyone else can.

WIN+C? My parents have a hard enough time hitting shift for capitals. Neither of them type, so quick key combinations only make things worse. Why should my parents bother learning a new interface when Classic shell fixed the problem? I don't use windows, so I had no reason to learn it.
