Edit: I've somewhat successfully (it only grabs thread titles) gotten the posts to show in a module using this code, for anyone interested: http://www.blapage.com/2012/04/15/sh...letin-4-x.html. However, using a RSS feed module displaying new threads and a bit of the content looks better.

You can use an RSS feed there probably are some on the Joomla site. Maybe a stupid question but did you check on the Joomla site for any mod/component that would do what you need? On a different note you could use an RSS feed. There are some sites that you can grab free code off them to generate one. I found one that works pretty well and use it on a phpBB forum that I run.
