Download the child style, in the options simply choose to "Get customizations made in this style and all parent styles". Once you've downloaded it, now turn right back around and import that style but give it a new name - once imported check to ensure the style is correct; If so then delete the old style and the old child-style as well (you can then rename to same old style name if you wish).
