Default Question regarding moving attachments to file system

Hi,

Here?s some background on that I?m doing:

I?m working on running my existing vB 4.2.2 site under an SSL. In preparation, I moved vbulletin from ../public_html/srvctr to the root dir ../public_html. Then, I renamed the srvctr directory to old-srvctr and logged into the site. All my attachments were missing so I renamed the old-srvctr directory back to srvctr and viola, the attachments are back.

Currently, the attachments are in the vB database. So my first thought is to take them out of the database and put them into a file in the root directory.

In hind sight, I should have done this BEFORE I moved vB. I could go backwards and put vB back, but it?s more complicated because I renamed my control panels back to the vB names and had to change config.php to reflect the name changes.

So, my question is:

If I run the move attachments script in admincp will it work? Logically, I think it should work, but experience tells me to ask others that have more experience.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Nita
