Moving an established board from one frame work to another is never an easy journey and always requires some additional manipulation. I would definitely be searching for a third party that is already familiar with this conversion.

I am not familiar with the internals of SMF, but see no reason why (with some craftsmanship) attachments cannot be carried over. If you do not have the skills or time necessary, this is an area I would be hiring a consultant.

Hopefully, one of the fine people here can point you to the right professional.
