The Hoover Dam is probably one of the cheapest things you can do if you find the time, get a car rental for the day and drive down... about a 45 min drive each way.

Only 45 mins??? wtf?, i was told it's hours!, i'll definitely do that then. I'm having a birthday week

i'm staying 6 nights, i've got to do freemont street, heart attack cafe, magaritasville, All the casinos that have a show like TI and Ceasars palace...etc, sooooooo much to do in a short space of time and so little cash.

You'll love Mon Ami Gabi restaurant, outside. They have heaters set up outside, if it gets cold. That is one of my favorite places to eat in Vegas. We are there every January, for a trade show.
You can walk just about anywhere, everything is close. There is a monorail. (well not to Hoover Dam, but stuff on the strip) Most of the big hotels have some kind of free attraction to see. (the pirate ship show, the tigers, the volcano, the pyramid light show, etc)
