Run Repair/Optimize on the userfield table and see if that fixes the issue.

How many rows in your user table and how many rows in your userfield table? And, if you click the Operations tab when viewing the user table (I assume you are looking at the tables via phpMyAdmin), what is the AUTO_INCREMENT set to? And, if you go to the usertextfield table and sort by userid, what is the max userid?
