I am a huge follower of Matt and i actually met him once years ago.

I think he is doing a great job in some ways though these changes always scare the hell out of me. They have been rolling out various major algo changes though for the last few years starting with penguin and Panda with the latest being hummingbird I believe. I think this would should be much easier to cope with for good sites with good content then some of the other changes made. I am looking forward to it.

I do like what he trying to do to get the more spammy sites to the bottom of the results but some of the manual actions can be tough to deal with. All a competitor has to do these days is submit a site to a ton of spammy directories and you can get penalized. The disavow process takes way to long also but other than that they are doing great things I think.
