you can do it 2 ways, upload it thru. the Admin CP (which is useful if you only want to upload one) or upload it via FTP then go to the Admin CP and chose Add...here's dirtion for both.

if you going to upload it via Admin CP, you need to fist CHMOD the smilies folder to 777 by connectiong to it thru. FTP and have the path going to the simlies folder

now for the one where you can upload more, just upload all the smilies you want into the smilies folder via FTP then go to the Admin CP and go to Smilies (or something like that) and click add...you want to chose the path where the smilies are then click on upload, the next screen lets you finish setting it up, should be easy
