I quit smoking on August 26th when I suffered a massive heart attack. When the paramedics arrived the first thing I told them was "I think I just quit smoking." They took me into emergency and that was the last thing I really remember for almost 2 weeks. I was in an induced coma for 11 days and it took me a few days after that to get my bearings as they brought me out. As they were aware I was a smoker, they put me on the nicotine patch while I was under and I have not had a cigarette since. I do get the urge to light up when watching television shows like True Detective now and then, but it passes pretty quickly.
So if you want a close to foolproof method to quit, or to lose weight - I dropped almost 60 LBS during the time I was in hospital, there's one for you! I really would not recommend it, however, because the side effects can be a real killer!
