Why upgrade to vb4? At least vb3.8.8 is compatible with php5.4 vb4.2.2 has issues with php5.4
vb4 is alright, but if its a lot of work to upgrade your customized website then I see little reason to go for vb4. vb4 does not have very compelling functions that vb3 does not. And there does not seem to be any major released planned for vb4.
