You need to decrease some elements height for that. Look for the following selectors and modify them:

.navbar
.navtabs
.navtabs li a
.navtabs li.selected

also line-height of this:

.navtabs li a.navtab

and top of this:

.navtabs ul

what exactly does this mean?
