I can't find it now... but I saw "Lynne" I think has posted a line of code that looked like it eliminated the header altogether. I haven't tried it.

If you just wanted to reduce the size, just make your logo on the left very short... like 100px or less. The size of your logo drives the height of the header area. I know its up to 233 (give or take) px wide, but the height of the logo is indefinite and the taller it is the taller your header will be.
