if the host died during the upgrading, all you have to do is re-run the upgradex.php again and it get it fix (even tho. if the database got corrupt while doing the upgrading while the host died, but it should make the database work again, but you might have to re-add the stuff that got deleted)....plus I have to agree with Sparkz, why did you only back up the threads and nothing else?? it would be easy to get everything working again if you backed up the own database.
