I was told that I have to purchase vBulletin 5 (which I don't want) as an upgrade for $209 so I can have access to previous versions of vBulletin 4 so I can use the blog feature. So, I need to pay $209 to incorporate a blog onto my forum.
Can anyone shed some light on this? Is there a possible modification I can use or anything I can do? I have the ability to upgrade to 4.2 but I still won't have the suite package so I don't think it will help. Thank you in advance

1.- Try a Google search "sell vbulletin license". You'll find lots of big sites where users are selling their vB license for $100 (sometimes less), as they moved to another forum. Just pay attention to be a vB4 Suite version which includes the Blog.
2.- If it's to pay $209 for upgrade is much better to pay $249 to buy a new license and then sell your old one. This way you'll save some money.
3.- "I have to purchase vBulletin 5" This is the marketing trick of IB to show that they have good sales for vB5, even if 90% of vB5 sales are from users who pay vB5 but they use vB3 or vB4.
