You know, a couple of years ago I turned on the Facebook connection in my forums and no one used it. Then I saw that it was no longer working because Facebook changed its API.

Twitter changed its API earlier this year, breaking hundreds of thousands or millions of RSS feeds across the Web (and the widgets those feeds powered).

You cannot rely on these services to maintain APIs that plugins depend on for these "cool" features. I will never again do that to my forum. It wasn't a big deal but it was annoying and embarrassing to be telling people to use Facebook to sign in and finally have someone say, "Hey, why doesn't this work?"
