Thank you for you effort. The WOW slider is indeed very neat and I will try to implement this also in several areas in my cms and forum.

Just started to play around a bit with it and noticed the following:

I followed your instructions how to "publish" the slideshow and saved it to a folder.
However opening the index.html with a text editor just gave me some empty lines with some numbers at the bottom. Nothing in there as you mentioned.
But opening the index.html in a browser window and do a "view source code" shows exactly the code as you mentioned before.

Just wanted to point this out for those who might end up with an empty index.html just like me
