The section about backlinks is well out of date, since Penguin in 2012, Google now looks at backlinks by relevance first, than rank.

So now if you have a forum about say horses, backlinks from a site about horses with a PR1 will give you more PR juice than a backlink from a site about cars that has PR5.

Also it is no longer a good idea to use backlink farms, Google knows most of the sites they use, and can trace them back to the farm, and will penalise you or even delist you for using them.

For pictures you need to use the alt tag, at the end of every image link there are a pair of inverted commas "", the alt tag goes between those.

So if the image link looks like :
<img src="smiley.gif" alt="Smiley face"> "Smiley face" is the alt tag
