I'd like the header of my forum to be a collapsible news feed with weekly articles. Those articles will be written by myself or another team member, and would appear as one large forum-width image with overlay summary and a link to the full article, along with 3 smaller image-only summaries of the next 3 most recent articles.

I'm trying to solve how we might technically achieve this.

One possibility we discussed is integrating Wordpress into vBulletin such that wordpress controls all header content, but then if we want to allow people to comment on articles, we need to bridge their memberships.

Another possibility I guess is using the CMS as our news feed, or maybe just one topic under the CMS.

Anyway, before I dive in trying to solve the code, I was hoping someone could provide some anecdotal advice on how they'd approach this?
