go to the cp and click on "modify" in the styles menu (in the left frame, near the bottom) and click on "[fonts/colors/etc]" of the style you wish to edit (probably "default").

You want to change these 2 options.

First Alternating Table Background Color
Second Alternating Table Background Color

It will also change the "gray" on the frontpage, thread and topic page as well.

Make sure you copy the existing colors, in case you wish to default back.
