If you know you edited a template, try using "Search in Templates" to find it. Also, when you go to the Style Manager and Edit Templates on your style, any templates that have been changed will be red.

Also, in the admincp under Settings > Options > General Settings you can temporarily set "Add Template Name in HTML Comments" to Yes, then when you view the HTML source of a page you can find the code you want to remove and look at the comments to figure out which template it's in (remember to turn off that option when you're done since it makes your page size larger).
