Actually that may be the ultimate solution. Until there are a lot of people running the latest version - and if they're having trouble with it - often the easiest path is to just downgrade to where everything was working normally.
If it's your own server I can't help, but if you're on a shared server then hosts never upgrade without leaving an easy downgrade option available. Usually this just means making an entry in a server config file somewhere (you'll have to ask them). Of course, if it's a shared server you should ask them anyway because the problem may be in some obscure new security setting (applies to your own server too).
