More of a template edit than anything else, I'm sure?

I'm trying to figure out how to re-implement the collapse button sorted by date for the PM list in private.php.

In 3.8.x we had the button next to the checkbox in each subcontainer, where the PM's were sorted by date (much like Outlook). A user could then minimize the subsection if they chose to.

Any thoughts regarding this implementation? I thought for sure it would be included in the default, but I haven't seen it enabled since upgrading from 3.8.x to 4.2 pl3.
