I think there is a BIG market for a good classifieds mod, and I think it would be easy for a developer to monetize it by offering an enhanced version on top of a basic free one.

Having just removed microclassifieds (Mary's Classifieds) from my site because the bugs were never fixed and then the developer walked (I had the paid version), I would only be keen to add something to my site that overlayed forum directories (basically where you selected existing vB directories to act as classifieds), not created a whole new separate application.

I say this as one of the big pitfalls of microclassifieds (apart from many bugs) was that it fell outside my vbseo, and the search engines did not like it. Also, when I had to remove microclassifieds, it created migration problems of course. Also, if a new mod were to overlay / enhance existing forums directories, even if the mod failed, the ads / classifieds / posts would still be there.
