I would add forum descriptions too all your sections, and pad the ones you have already.
I would consider condensing your forums since there are a few with one post in them, or check out sites like postloop to get some more post on your site. Empty forums are scary

I like your style, I do have a side scroll for some reason, might just be a little wide?

The welcome to the parents club image on top of your forum should go to the register page, I assume it's hidden to logged in users?

I would hide that spam o matic info in your who's online box, I as a parent could care less how many spammers were stopped

work on more content and backlinks, you're off to a good start
